They still had sixteen hours to spend in the jungle. Wushuang carefully checked all their equipment; food and water were relatively scarce, but other supplies were fairly complete. Mo Yue brought enough medicine but overlooked bringing dry rations. However, in a jungle, it was not difficult to find something to eat.

Wushuang organized all the gear and chose a safe route heading northeast. After having a quick meal, they set off. Fumei Inori had been carrying Xuebai for a day and wanted to switch, but Mo Yue refused. The others could only walk in silence.

Moving through the jungle was always unpredictable. Unintentionally, Yun stepped on a hunter's trap and nearly fell into it. Poisonous traps were nearby as well. Wushuang warned them to be more careful because this was already the safest route.

After walking for over an hour, the midday sun gradually slanted away from the forest. The shade made it eerie, and Mo Xuebai suddenly woke up. His drug craving had returned; when he experienced withdrawal symptoms, Mo Yue was always his victim. He would unconsciously hurt Mo Yue and himself. Mo Yue restrained him while Wushuang injected drugs into his body to calm him down.

"Big sister..." Mo Xuebai called out, seemingly recognizing Wushuang for the first time. She was very moved by this and stroked his face, saying, "It's okay now; you'll be fine."

Mo Xuebai didn't respond but stared at her. Feeling heartbroken, she gently caressed his face until he fell asleep again. They continued their journey when Wushuang suddenly stopped. Mo Yue narrowed his eyes and gave a signal to lie down and listen closely. Yun asked, "What's wrong"

"Someone is here!" Wushuang said. Everyone held their breath in silence. After listening for a while, she stood up sternly and said, "Eighteen people are searching towards us; they definitely aren't hunters."

Fumei Inori loaded their guns. Wushuang added, "They're less than one kilometer away and well-trained."

Mo Yue's voice was serious: "Total annihilation!"

Wushuang nodded in agreement. She and Fumei Inori began setting up traps by cleverly using the hunters' traps and poisonous ones. With limited ammunition, they had to be thrifty with their use. Wushuang marked an area of several dozen meters as dangerous. Mo Yue held Xuebai and hid behind a rock while Fumei Inori protected them. Wushuang and Yun would handle eliminating the enemy. Mo Yue wondered who these people were. If they were searching for them, the news about their location could be exposed soon with unimaginable consequences.

Twenty minutes later, hidden in the underbrush, Wushuang and Yun used binoculars to observe the approaching troops. They clearly belonged to the US Army's best-trained infantry unit. Wushuang and Yun exchanged a glance; they quietly waited for them to enter their trap. If these men were here, where were the others Just because she hadn't heard other footsteps didn’t mean they weren’t around.

The squad leader led his men slowly towards the fortified area. They were all soldiers who had undergone special training, true soldiers; Hunter's traps meant nothing to them. The real danger lay within.

The jungle was eerily quiet... silent as death...

Only the rustling of leaves and occasional wolf howls broke the silence...

Suddenly, a hacking cough echoed through the air. Mo Xiaobai suddenly felt unwell and began to cough violently while clutching his chest. This sudden change alarmed Wu Shuang and Yun, as they hadn't yet entered her territory. They clearly heard Mo Xiaobai’s coughs; this forest was so quiet that any sound seemed amplified several times over. Multiple guns pointed at the rocks, with one man shouting out to ask who it was. Mo Yao and Feng fell silent, while Wu Shuang and Yun didn’t dare move.

They approached, inching closer...

Mos Xiaobai suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable, his body shaking violently as the commotion grew louder. One of them tried to flank around and ambush him from behind, but Wu Shuang was hidden in the bushes. She gestured to Yun, who, positioned high up, signaled Feng. Feng circled around and fired a cold shot, killing that man. Bullets swept over like water towards the rocks as Mo Yao covered Xiaobai’s ears, hugging him tightly against them. Yun held her sniper rifle, firing silently; each shot brought down one enemy soldier without even knowing which direction the bullets came from. In an instant, five people had been eliminated, and the remaining soldiers all found cover in the jungle, not daring to move. Yun's sniper skills were excellent too, as she was a shock troop member whose primary weapon wasn't the sniper rifle but didn’t fall short of American snipers either. This particular sniper rifle had high horizontal firing capabilities, but with many obstacles in the forest and limited visibility, they concealed themselves within the jungle, not daring to move. Yun couldn't find an ideal position for her sniper.

They hadn't yet reached the trap zone when Wu Shuang knew they were being cautious. Yun fired cold shots from behind; she moved like a ghost around one soldier, grabbing his head with one hand and covering his mouth with another, twisting it to snap his neck.

Yun signaled her position through the scope. Wu Shuang silently approached each one in turn, eliminating them swiftly without making any noise, all at close range with a single fatal move. With the eighth soldier, there was a minor incident; a small venomous snake startled an army soldier hiding in the bushes who turned to see Wu Shuang approaching and raised his rifle to shoot. Wu Shuang dove next to him, bullets whizzing past as she pressed him down. The soldier fought back fiercely, but Wu Shuang's bayonet pierced through his forehead.

The gunshot awoke other soldiers; only six remained after twelve were eliminated. Hearing the commotion, they all rushed towards Wu Shuang. One sniper was about to fire when Feng shot him in the head from behind. The remaining five clearly feared for their lives and one attempted to retreat but Wu Shuang pounced on him from behind, a bullet tearing through his abdomen.

The soldier ahead reacted by turning around and firing; Wu Shuang used the corpse as cover before diving towards some rocks and firing back, "Sh*t!"

Blood trickled down her arm where a bullet grazed past. The moment she was injured, Yun’s sniper fire intensified. Finally, only one person remained. Feng asked from behind the rock, “Which department do you belong to”

The man didn't answer but fired at the rocks; bullets failed to penetrate them and instead startled Mo Xiaobai who appeared quite uneasy upon hearing the gunshot sounds, his body trembling violently. Mo Yao squinted his eyes while Feng understood that he shouldn’t ask any further questions, as Yun had already taken him out.

Less than half an hour, they wiped them out completely.

Wu Shuang came out and Yun jumped down from above with a sniper rifle. The others dismantled the traps when suddenly Moyao shouted, "Be careful, Wu Shuang!"

Wu Shuang turned around abruptly like a death goddess, bullets shooting dead one of their soldiers on the ground who had just been hit and was trying to take another with him. Yun examined all the bodies to make sure there were no stragglers.

Moyao told Feng to collect their equipment; perhaps they would have to fight a guerrilla war for several days.

Wu Shuang bandaged his wounds, the bullet had cut deep. Wu Shuang didn’t even frown as he was bandaging himself. Moyao said, "They know where we are now."

Wu Shuang nodded silently. "Our electronic devices can't be tracked by them. The only way they could find out about us would be to break into our computers. Mochen had warned us…"

Moyao smiled bitterly, "I thought…"

Wu Shuang frowned at him. "What did you think"

Moyao didn’t answer but looked down at Xiaobai for a moment. "Xiaobai seems to be terrified by the sound of gunfire."

"He’s not just afraid of gunshots, he's afraid of tight spaces, darkness and many other things…" Wu Shuang said. Xiaobai was like another person completely; everything he used to fear nothing in the past now made him fearful.

Yun checked over them. The radio communications had been cut off and all were dead. Feng also collected their equipment; they carried quite a lot of it, enough for some time. Wu Shuang said, "This small team losing contact means that another one will definitely come to replace them, our position has been exposed. We either keep moving forward or continue circling around with them until they turn back."

"Keep going!" Moyao said gravely. "Xiaobai can't wait any longer…"

No Double nodded. If this was the case, they had to redistribute their positions. Before dark, they needed to be wary of another small squad coming in to search. This news couldn't be kept secret; by now, the others might have received it.

Moyao looked at the sky with concern...

The group packed up and continued walking since there was no signal again. They had to rely on themselves for everything. In the evening, No Double found a place to rest, and the group replenished their energy. However...

Moyao suddenly looked up at the sky. No Double had gone hunting, and even the wind and clouds seemed calm as everyone turned to look at the sky.

That was an abnormal danger that only those who were constantly trained could敏銳地察覺到。十分鐘後,直升機在他們頭頂盤旋,是一架軍用武裝直升機……從機身就能看出是美軍。

No Double returned with her body crouched down. Luckily, they had been alert and didn't start a fire; the helicopter kept circling in the sky. No Double felt relieved. It was nighttime now, so the soldiers couldn't see much. If it were daytime, things could have turned very bad.

Barbecuing was out of the question. No Double simply cooked the chicken and snake raw, which they ate uncooked. Mo Xiaobai had dried food and water. Everyone put on night-vision goggles and continued walking in the forest, daring not to stay in one place. The armed helicopter followed them like a shadow as it searched for them. With darkness falling and this jungle being so dangerous, the soldiers naturally didn't dare to enter; they could only search with helicopters. No Double wasn't worried since the jungle was thick, and without a fire, she believed that the soldiers wouldn't find them.

"There are eight pounds of helicopter."

No Double nodded. "Black Widow."

Cloud asked in shock, "Why did they turn back" No Double smiled and asked, "Are you scared"

"Scared With you and Big Brother around, there's nothing to be afraid of," Cloud said with a smile. No Double thought, Faith is truly a beautiful thing.ilians were injured, and over ten people died from stray bullets. In the ruins, local military police dug out more than ten bodies on the edge, their flesh torn apart so badly that their faces were unr...
